| The Reading |
What does a tarot reading involve? In traditional 'fortune-telling' the querent (the person seeking the reading) was expected to say very little - the reader was supposed to detect hidden information and predict what was to come. While I honour the intuitive/psychic connection that exists between my clients and me, I do not take a "crystal ball" approach. Readings with me are conversational, require mutual feedback, and focus more on the power of self-knowledge and free will than on prediction. The images on the cards function as insight and provide inspiration for positive change. The framing of the question is very important in this style of reading. The best questions are open-ended and do not require any kind of yes/no answer. (For example: "What is the best way to work with the difficulties I am experiencing in my relationship with X?" is better than, say, "Should I kick X out and ask Y to move in?"
When you have a reading ...
I also give you the opportunity to respond directly to the pictures, and your active participation in the interpretation of the cards helps you to access your own intuitive wisdom. The overall aim is to help you understand the possibilities and choices arising out of the reading and be able to apply these in your daily life. Readings are also available via a telephone consultation.
Divination is offered in a spirit of enquiry, with respect for the free will of the querent. Responsibility for use and interpretation of information provided during the reading remains with the querent.

We decide on a suitable layout, shuffle the cards, then you choose the cards for us to interpret. I describe the potential meanings of the spread based on my knowledge of the traditional meanings for the cards, the symbolism and comparisons displayed, and the understanding which comes to me as I look at the images.
